The great need of the 20-30 young boys
who live at the Casa del Niño orphanage in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, became apparent when a local team from Penn Yan, New York went to Honduras in the wake of Hurricane Mitch in 1998.

A committee at St. Michael’s parish organized a program to help with some of the extras that the orphanage was unable to afford:

books, school supplies, tuition, treats, items such as
new bedding, and so on.

Since the project began in August, 1999, sponsors have donated roughly $6000 a year, all of which is given to the orphanage for these needs.

It is our hope that the boys will have a better quality of life now and a better hope for the future through our help.
